Vita Group completes sale of two Vita Student residences in Barcelona

Vita Group has completed the sale of two Vita Student residences in Barcelona, totalling 624 PBSA beds to a fund managed by Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing (MSREI).

Vita Student Pedralbes was Vita Group’s first development outside of the UK, opening in September 2022. The building has 274 studio apartments set within the university district of Barcelona. The building boasts beautiful amenity with terraces, roof gardens, a pool, indoor and outdoor gyms along with co-working spaces, socialising spaces and MasterChef style social kitchens. Vita Student Pedralbes is perfectly placed to service Barcelona’s esteemed business schools IESE and ESADE, both of which are within a short walk, with Universitat de Barcelona and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya also within easy reach.

Vita Student Poblenou is situated in Barcelona’s vibrant 22@ district, close to Barcelona’s renowned nightlife and within easy reach of the city centre amenity. Opened in September 2023, the building has 349 studio apartments, a stunning rooftop pool with views out to the sea and the city’s landmarks and is complemented with social spaces, co-working spaces and private dining rooms. As well as being perfectly placed for residents to advantage of 22@s vibrant leisure offering, Vita Student Poblenou is ideal for those studying at EADA, UPF and IED and within walking distance of the beach.

Vita Student will continue to operate the buildings on behalf of MSREI, delivering its best-in-class ‘all-in’ living experience which includes resident events, breakfast, and Vita Student’s ‘Begin Big’ programme, designed to help students get ahead in their studies with everything from inspiring talks delivered by titans of industry to CV writing workshops.

Ioannis Verdellis, Chief Investment Officer for Vita Group said: “We’re delighted to complete this transaction. Spain and specifically Barcelona have enjoyed significant student growth over the last decade, attracting top talent from around the world to study at their leading institutions. Vita Student Pedralbes and Poblenou are perfectly placed to service Barcelona’s active market and the businesses’ performance since opening our first scheme in 2022 is testament to this.”

Place & Community

01

Place & Community

Create thriving communities, a principle which has been with us from the very start, it’s simply not good enough to create a building without thinking carefully about its context and the wider impact it has on its surrounding neighbourhood. We’re driven to create communities within communities as well as respond to and complement the neighbourhood and its eco-system. Creating tomorrow’s city living means we must be part of the DNA of that city and partnering with local authorities. This includes connecting with local suppliers, talent, charities, and businesses, collaborating on important community initiatives and helping to develop surrounding spaces. It’s not just about helping to regenerate cities; it’s helping them to function effectively.
