British Heart Foundation partnership raises over £16K for charity and diverts waste from landfill

With collection bins installed across the entire Vita Student portfolio ahead of the end of term, Vita Student and British Heart Foundation have managed to divert nine tonnes of potential waste thanks to generous student donations.

If items hadn’t been donated, they could have had an equivalent environmental impact of 95,501 kg CO2 emissions, instead they’ve helped to raise £16,422 for British Heart Foundation and the amazing work it does across the country.

A long-term partnership, donation bins are installed prior to the end of term for residents to donate their unwanted items from their rooms before they move out. Since its inception, Vita Student has helped raise over £52,000 through donations which is enough to fund research lab consumables for two years and has diverted approximately 30 tonnes of waste from landfill.
